Literature Text

Do you remember the night we met?
I smile still, it's a memory hard to forget.
A song was playing and the stars were hung just right.
You took my hand and we danced in the moonlight.
It felt like everything in life had found a place.
It's a memory I could never replace.

Isn't it funny how everything can change in a blink of an eye?
One minute you say hello, the next your trying to find a way to say good-bye.
Your voice is weaker now, your pain on your face.
Oh how I would take your pain away if that were the case.
We try our best to hold on to a life letting go.
But it slips through our fingers, like the waters of an undertow.

Let's remember the good times with the time we have spare.
It lightens the pain some, knowing of the many we have shared.
Our hearts will be our guide on this journey we fly.
Bring back our past and our days gone by.
Hold on to our good times, 'cause they are all we have left.
As I sit here holding your hand, and wishing you the best.

A smile softens your face as you close your eyes and whisper your last good-bye.
You breathe your last breath as I start to cry.
In the gentle breeze, your candle blown out.
Leaving me filled with sorrow, for this I have no doubt.
Your life has no more struggles, no more strife.
As I let go of your hand, and you let go of life.
It's basically about being in love and having to let that person go even though it is the hardest thing you have ever had to do.
